Peaceful and Serene…Santa Fe, New Mexico

Mary Jane and I have just returned from a place that is…dream like…peaceful…and serene.  Santa Fe, New Mexico.

‘Santa Fe, New Mexico’s capital, sits in the Sangre de Cristo foothills.  It’s renowned for its Pueblo-style architecture and as a creative arts hotbed.  Founded as a Spanish colony in 1610, it has at its’ heart the traditional Plaza.  The surrounding historic district’s crooked streets wind past adobe landmarks including the Palace of the Governor’s, now home to the New Mexico History Museum.’   Santa Fe City in New Mexico.

IMG_3614Last Sunday, or our first day there, we visited the Spanish Market…that is a annual event in the heart of Santa Fe.

IMG_3630The artisans and, Tin Artists who’s art is known as hojalata, were extraordinary in their complexity and diversity.  Mechem, introduced us to one of her friends who had made some very beautiful pieces of Tin Art.

IMG_3677IMG_3789Being with Dear Ron and Ira Kaye, is always a joy and a pleasure!  Also, being able to visit with the wonderful Carson and Mechem and their delightful children was a special treat!

I went on the most pleasurable walk with Ron and Ira Kaye…that was both invigorating and feast for the eyes and senses!

IMG_3683 2IMG_3687IMG_3681IMG_3667IMG_3656Mountains captivate my imagination!  It appears to me that Santa Fe…could provide an artist…or a dreamer…a lifetime of inspiration!

  1. I love Santa Fe, and have visited there many times. I have now discovered San Miguel de Allende in Mexico, and it has the same charm, peacefulness, and serenity as SF, but at a much lower cost.

    1. I must visit San Miguel de Allende, soon! 😉

  2. Thanks for the lovely tour!!☺Looks like you had a good trip!

    1. You are most welcome, my friend. We did have a very relaxing visit. 😉

  3. Thank you for sharing. I love local markets and have so much respect for those who have the skills to make handmade crafts. You never know what might come up from the local artisans. I am spellbound by the adobe architecture. have never encountered anything like this in real life. I am from Canada and my knowledge of New Mexico is limited. It looks truly spectacular.

    1. New Mexico is unique, both in geography and architecture, as well as an extremely pleasant climate and people. I am so pleased that you enjoyed the post. 🤠
